Cloudy Bay the toast of Middle Earth
New Zealand’s most famous wine label Cloudy Bay will be served to a raft of international celebrities and VIP guests at the official party in Wellington tonight to mark the world premiere of The Return of the King, the third and concluding movie of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
“We were thrilled to learn that two of our wines would be served at one of the biggest celebrations ever held in New Zealand. It’s a magnificent honour for Cloudy Bay to be invited to supply wines for such an influential international crowd,” Cloudy Bay managing director Kevin Judd said today.
Pelorus Vintage 1998 will be poured for 2500 guests during the pre-theatre drinks and after the screening of The Return of the King party-goers will be sipping on Pelorus Vintage 1999 and Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2003.
Cloudy Bay Vineyards was established in Marlborough in 1985 by Cape Mentelle, the Western Australian winery, which today is a subsidiary of champagne house Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. The average annual crush is 1200 tonnes and the wines are exported to 20 countries worldwide.
