NZ builder receives 100,000th truss from Carters

Leading NZ builder receives 100,000th truss from Carters

A leading NZ builder, Versatile Buildings, celebrates the 100,000th truss manufactured for them by Carters on Friday.

Trusses were manufactured in-house until October 1998 but due to big volume growth Versatile began contracting to Carters five years ago.

Versatile Buildings is the first NZ company to reach the 100,000th truss milestone, ordering equivalent of 75 roof trusses per business day.

Versatile is NZ’s largest manufacturer and builder of quality small buildings.

Managing director Bruce Matheson said the landmark achievement for the company was a result of the brand’s steady growth throughout NZ.

``The future looks very bright, with further growth planned. We are pretty thrilled with this 100,000th truss milestone,’’ he said.

Versatile’s manufacturing and distribution operations in New Zealand employs 300 staff including subcontractors. There are 56 retail outlets nationwide; 33 Versatile and 23 Totalspan.

The company dates back to 1970, is privately owned and has its head office in Christchurch.

It has manufacturing plants in Christchurch and Brisbane and its garden sheds are also manufactured under licence in Europe.

Versatile is the largest manufacturer of garden sheds in Australasia, producing approximately 50,000 sheds a year. They have also experienced significant growth in homes, cottages and sleepouts. Ends
