EMA's thrivetv.com, the world's first streaming business television channel run by a business association, was officially launched at the Annual General Meeting of the Employers & Manufacturers Association (Northern) last evening.
ThriveTV.com is EMA's latest business service to help develop New Zealand's culture of entrepreneurship and business success, said Alasdair Thompson, EMA's chief executive.
"Our aim with thrivetv.com is to inspire, entertain and inform.
"ThriveTV.com will provide a comprehensive coverage of business events and the success of our traders and service organisations.
"It will celebrate their innovations, style, chutzpah and growth.
"We want http://www.thrivetv.com/ to show kiwis mean business. We intend it to build an audience in schools and the public for business and enterprise.
"A strong focus of the channel will be to feature business stories that inspire and motivate others to work at growing their businesses while delivering some fundamental business advice and skills."
EMA's Marketing Manager said streaming video over the internet was the most exciting technology since the advent of radio nearly 100 years ago.
"We expect thrivetv.com to
redefine business reporting, he said. "It will treat large
corporates and small regional businesses with the same
respect while presenting their successes to throughout New
Zealand and the rest of the world."
