New Logo Acknowledges Farmer Investment
Dairy InSight has developed a new logo for branding on all the industry good activities it is funding.

Dairy InSight Chief Executive Peter Bodeker says Dairy InSight has developed the logo to enable farmers to receive recognition for their investment.
“When they see the logo they will know they have contributed towards that activity. It was developed to enable them to receive that acknowledgment.”
Mr Bodeker says Dairy InSight began collecting a 3.4c/kg milksolids (plus GST) levy from farmers nearly six months ago, signalling a major change to the way industry good activities are managed.
“Deductions are now taken from a farmer’s dairy company milk payment for us to invest in areas like farm research, environment, quality, knowledge, promotion and advocacy.
“As farmers know the exact amount they are contributing towards these activities they are better able to gauge progress being made on their own farms from that investment, which amounts to about $10 per cow,” he says.
“Dairy InSight expects to deliver a return on that investment, but recognises it must do everything it can at keeping farmers informed of the activities being invested in on their behalf.”
Mr Bodeker says the logo, similar in look to Dairy InSight’s, has the tag line ‘funded by New Zealand dairy farmers through Dairy InSight’ and has started appearing on activities funded by the Dairy InSight levy, such as the ‘Let’s Talk Dairying’ promotional programme.
“The logo will help farmers judge, by being better informed, whether their investment in industry good activities is a good one.
“It is important that farmers’ investment in industry good is transparent and the logo will help to identify where farmers are contributing. We intend to develop other tools that will help farmers measure the value and success of their industry good investment.”
He says all Dairy InSight’s service providers, including Dexcel, AgResearch, Livestock Improvement, AgITO, MAF and the Animal Health Board, will be using the logo in promotional opportunities surrounding activities receiving levy funding.
Dairy farmers should contact Dairy InSight on freephone 0800 446 744, fax 04 471 6909 or email info@dairyinsight.co.nz for further information on the logo, levy and activities being funded.
