Telecom Annual Meeting In Auckland On Thursday

Telecom is holding its annual meeting of shareholders in Auckland on Thursday - the first time it has been held in the City of Sails.

The meeting is on Thursday 9 October 2003 at 10 am at the Carlton Ballroom, Carlton Hotel, on the corner of Mayoral Drive and Vincent St, Auckland.

Chairman Roderick Deane and Chief Executive Theresa Gattung will be speaking on company performance in the past year.

Shareholders will be asked to consider and vote on: • An increase in the total directors’ fee pool to facilitate the appointment of a new director • The appointment of former Bank of New Zealand Chief Executive Lindsay Pyne as a director • Chief Executive Theresa Gattung’s remuneration package • The re-election of Roderick Deane and Paul Baines as directors.

Dr Deane said he was delighted to be holding the meeting in Auckland.

“At last year’s meeting we indicated we would open to holding the meeting outside of Wellington so this will be a great opportunity to enable more of our shareholders to attend and to meet the directors and senior staff. The Board is very much looking forward to meeting the Auckland shareholders who will be attending.”
