Auckland Chamber Gains International Recognition
The re-branding and marketing campaign by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce has taken top honours in the inaugural World Chambers Federation competition.
The competition, held as part of the World Chambers Congress in Quebec City, Canada, drew 65 entries from 29 countries.
The Auckland Chamber of Commerce won the Best Marketing and Communications award for its project undertaken to rejuvenate the brand appeal of the organisation, whilst retaining the credibility of linkages to the world's largest and successful business network, the International Chambers of Commerce.
Following the introduction of the brand in Auckland, all Chambers of Commerce in the Northern Region voted unanimously to adopt the new branding and associated internet platform.
Today 70% of Chambers around New Zealand have adopted the new brand, which was developed with the assistance of leading brand strategist Brian R Richards. The brand was designed to focus on the ultimate reason for the existence of Chambers: to inspire and promote business vitality.
The aim of the competition is to recognise the most innovative projects recently undertaken by Chambers of Commerce around the world. Jury chairman, Adnan Kassar, described the quality of entries as "staggeringly impressive" with Auckland's winning entry "exceptional".
Winners of three other categories
were Chambers of Commerce in Switzerland, India and Turkey.
