Recognising Supreme NZ Food Writers

Launch Of Culinary Quills 2003 Recognises Supreme Nz Food Writers

Food writers are invited to enter the New Zealand Guild of Food Writers Culinary Quills, which open tomorrow and close on September 5th.

The revamped awards, now known as the Culinary Quills, include a new Supreme Award which recognises the most outstanding entry, selected from the ten category winners.

Mavis Airey, President of the NZ Guild of Food Writers, said the biennial awards are a great way to showcase the best of New Zealand food writing.

“The Guild’s aim is to foster excellence in food writing – what better way to do this than to acknowledge those who have produced outstanding work?”

“Overseas, our food writers regularly receive accolades for their work. The Culinary Quills enable New Zealand to celebrate that success, too. They will also recognise the enormous contribution food writers make to the development of New Zealand cuisine, and to our knowledge and attitudes towards food,” said Mavis Airey.
