Shell gives motorists time to fill up at old prices

Shell New Zealand said today that it would hold off raising its prices in response to world oil price pressures until 8.00pm tonight (Wednesday, 11 June 2003).

“Shell has absorbed the increases in world oil prices over the past week, but we must now reluctantly pass those on to the motoring public,” Shell Retail Manager Mark Nobilo said today.

“However, Shell is determined to give all our customers as much advance warning as possible, so they can fill up at the old prices.

"We will wait we will wait until 8pm tonight (Wednesday, 11 June 2003) before increasing the price of both grades of petrol and diesel," said Mr Nobilo.

The new price of 91 grade petrol will be 99.9 cents per litre, 96 grade will be 104.9 cents per litre and diesel will cost 59.9 cents per litre at most Shell service stations.

“Shell continues to announce changes in fuel prices and to bringing New Zealanders the best possible fuel prices,” Mr Nobilo said.
