Popular Polynesia tempts Tahitian cruisers

With Polynesia such a popular destination for Kiwi holidaymakers, P&O Cruises has just released its second Tahiti-based sailing programme for 2003-04.

P&O Cruises is offering more than 50 exotic 10-day voyages to the stunning Tahitian Princess, sailing from charming Papeete, Tahiti.

Featuring three exciting itineraries, the cruises take in the towering Tahitian archipelago as well as Samoa, the Cook Islands and the impressive volcanic Marquesas.

Fares start at only $1,910 for the 10-day cruises departing Papeete through to April 2004. Airfares are additional.

The 680-passenger Tahitian Princess was launched in 2002 and features a luxurious club-style hotel ambiance, P&O's Australia and New Zealand director of sales and marketing Ross Regan says.

"Sailing Polynesia and Tahiti is a wonderful experience and one that is extremely popular with New Zealand cruise aficionados because it represents such value-for-money," Mr Regan says.

"More than two-thirds of the cabins have balconies and naturally the fare includes main meals, daily entertainment and all your port charges. You get the sense of staying in a floating hotel, with all the intimacy that a small cruise ship offers.

Tahitian Princess has four restaurants, a poolside barbecue grill and pizzeria, eight bars, a show lounge, theatre/cinema, internet café, casino and nightclub as well as a fitness centre, beauty salon and duty free shop.
