Auckland Holds Free Biz Clinic for Maori in the Arts
Maori operating businesses in the arts, fashion and music industries are invited to attend a free mentoring clinic
Monday (June 9th) at the Te Wananga o Aotearoa in Mangere.
The clinics are organised by Maori Women’s Development Inc (MWDI), an organisation that provides small business loans
and mentoring to Maori women and their whanau.
The session starts at 1.00pm and will run until 6.00pm and covers management, marketing and accounting business
practices.
Dame Georgina Kirby, executive director of MWDI, says the clinics help Maori understand the processes needed to keep
their businesses running successfully.
A wananga follows the clinic with guest speakers Harry Howe, importer of Versace clothing, artist Richard Cooper and
entertainer Russell Harrison. There will also be opportunities to network. To attend the clinic, please contact Dot
