The Warehouse Group Chief Executive Resigns

The Warehouse Group Chief Executive Resigns

The Chairman of The Warehouse Group Limited, Mr Keith Smith, has today announced with regret the resignation of the company’s Chief Executive Officer Mr Greg Muir.

Mr Muir’s resignation came as a result of ongoing discussions in which the Board and the CEO had differing philosophies regarding the direction of the company.

“I would like to acknowledge Mr Muir’s contribution to the company over the past four years,’ said Mr Smith.

“During Mr Muir’s four years with The Warehouse Group the company grew from an $800 million business to a $2 billion business”.

Mr Muir said that while he had greatly enjoyed his time at the company, he had decided to resign and will finish on July 31, 2003. He expressed his confidence in the excellent management team which he has built during his four years with The Warehouse Group. Mr Muir said his parting with The Warehouse was amicable and that he will continue to run the business until he leaves to ensure there is a smooth transition of all operational matters.

Mr Smith said that the Founder of The Warehouse Group, Mr Stephen Tindall, had agreed to assume the role of acting CEO while the company undertook a search for a new Group Chief Executive.
