Candidate Withdraws From Director Election

Candidate Withdraws From Fonterra Director Election

Fonterra Board of Directors' election candidate Les Keeper, of Queenstown, has withdrawn his candidacy.

Returning Officers Carolyn Mason and Mike Linnegar say Mr Keeper has withdrawn for personal reasons and that 11 candidates will now contest the three vacant positions on the Board.

They are:
* Colin Holmes, Murupara
* Harry Bayliss, Manaia
* Stuart Nattrass, Christchurch
* Richard Booth, Whangarei
* John Wilson, Te Awamutu
* Hilary Webber, Cambridge
* Graeme Edwards, Leigh
* Kingi Smiler, Wellington
* Marise James, Inglewood
* Malcolm Bailey, Feilding
* Maurice Hardie, Papamoa

Voting packs including voting papers, a video interview of each candidate, a booklet containing candidate profiles and a booklet on the key skills and capabilities Fonterra directors should possess, are being sent to Fonterra's shareholders on April 28.

Fonterra shareholders will also have the opportunity to meet and question the 11 candidates during a roadshow where the candidates will travel to 11 centres nationwide from May 7-14.

The election runs from April 28 until noon on May 23, with shareholders required to rank the candidates in order of their preference under the Single Transferable Voting (STV) system being used.

Further information on the election process and the candidates is available on www.fencepost.com
