PRESS RELEASE
$400000 invested in Scholarships throughout New Zealand
Warehouse Stationery has just completed the awarding of 200 Scholarships nationally. Almost 1000 applications were received for the 200 scholarships available.
The Scholarships are valued at $2000 each and were granted to participants of full time courses at any polytechnic that is a member of the Association of Polytechnics in New Zealand.
This initiative is funded from the Key4free Computer Training classes held at selected Warehouse Stationery stores throughout New Zealand.
Warehouse Stationery has 39 stores throughout New Zealand specialising in providing customers with office products, business machines and consumables, furniture, copy services, school and tertiary stationery.
Key4free is a partnership between Warehouse Stationery and the Tertiary Accord of New Zealand. It is administered by Manukau Institute of Technology, offering FREE computer training to any New Zealand citizen over the age of 16 years.
In a joint statement from Robert Smith General Manager of Warehouse Stationery and Elspeth Mount of Manukau Institute of Technology, “The desire to make a difference, furthering education and returning new found skills to the community, through further academic study, was a strong theme running through this years applications. The Scholarships provide financial assistance where in some circumstances students would be unable to complete their studies.”
“This is an initiative in the communities in which we operate, and we are very proud to be in a position to make these scholarships available” says Robert Smith.
