AMI reaffirms its commitment to local branch network
Today AMI Insurance reaffirmed its commitment to a nation-wide branch network with the official opening of a newly
renovated art deco Napier branch office.
“AMI is committed to retaining its branch network because we believe that delivery of customer care must happen in our
customer’s communities,” said John Balmforth, AMI’s Chief Executive.
AMI, the country’s largest wholly New Zealand-owned fire and general insurer, is holding firm on its philosophy of
customer care in the community.
“We are proudly supporting our customers locally, when other companies are closing local offices. The real advantage of
our network of branches throughout urban and especially in provincial New Zealand, is that we have people ’on the
ground‘ ready to respond to our customer requirements,” said Mr Balmforth.
AMI, in conjunction with the Bennett Family Trust, has undertaken a major refurbishment of Bennett’s Building, one of
Napier’s oldest Art Deco buildings, in the Stripped Classic art deco style.
“We are delighted to be giving something back to the local community and to demonstrate our commitment to our customers
and Napier city,” said Mr Balmforth.
The branch opening coincides with Napier city’s Art Deco Weekend and will be marked with an official opening by Napier’s
Mayor Barbara Arnott this evening.
