Industry New Zealand Publication Showcases New Zealand Innovation
“A celebration of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship,” is how Industry New Zealand’s Major Events Manager, Vito Lo Iacono describes Industry New Zealand’s Innovation New Zealand publication.
Mr Lo Iacono said the publication sends out a strong message that New Zealand has the talent and ability to compete with the best in the world.
Innovation New Zealand was included as an insert in the Best of the Best 2003 book launched on Wednesday 11 December.
Innovation New Zealand aims to celebrate a sampling of innovative New Zealand businesses and showcase over the next ten months, New Zealand’s entrepreneurial success to overseas business clients, visiting individuals, potential investors in New Zealand and overseas, and international media that are in New Zealand for the America’s Cup.
“We wanted to show these influential decision makers what a dynamic, successful business environment New Zealand has.
“The businesses celebrated in Innovation New Zealand are just some examples of cutting edge innovation, creativity and business acumen that exist in New Zealand today,” said Mr Lo Iacono.
Businesses featured come from the creative, information and communications technology (ICT), biotechnology and niche manufacturing sectors.
They range from well known names such as Weta Digital and Jade Software Corporation to up and coming biotechnology firm, Neuronz, and digital games maker Sidhe (pronounced ‘she’) Interactive.
“We are moving to a global environment where the most successful economies will be those built on ideas and talent.
“That makes it important for New Zealand to celebrate the achievements of these and other innovative businesses – they are wealth creators of the future,” said Mr Lo Iacono.
Major Events, Industry New Zealand is charged with attracting and supporting events that promote high-growth industries and offer an economic spin-off.
