NZBCSD Endorses Work/Life Balance Concept

NZBCSD Endorses Work/Life Balance Concept

"The New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development (NZBCSD) endorses the concept of work/life balance. We encourage employees and employers to work together to understand and seek to meet each other’s needs for work/life balance.” Eric Barratt, Vice-Chair of the NZBCSD and Managing Director of Sanford Ltd, said in reference to Finsec’s work/life balance campaign today.

“Business Council member businesses are required to produce an annual Sustainable Development Report and part of this involves understanding employee expectations and perceptions of employment practices and their effects on work/life balance.”

“We believe this can create a win-win outcome for both employees and businesses as part of the business case for balancing economic and social responsibility" Barratt said.

The NZBCSD is a coalition of 41 leading businesses united by a shared commitment to sustainable development. The NZBCSD mission is to provide business leadership as a catalyst for change toward sustainable development, and to promote eco-efficiency, innovation and responsible entrepreneurship. NZBCSD members believe that Sustainable Development is about ensuring a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come.

The Industry Guide to Zero Waste Guide is available in hardcopy from the NZBCSD or on the website at http:// http://www.nzbcsd.org.nz/zerowaste.
