Dairy Farmers Welcome NZMP Restructure

Yesterday's announcement that Fonterra will restructure New Zealand Milk Products is a positive step towards addressing duplication and overspending, says Dairy Farmers of New Zealand chairman Kevin Wooding.

"At Fonterra's annual meeting farmer's concerns regarding corporate overspending were well canvassed," said Mr Wooding. "These overruns totalled $64m - an average of $3,500 per farmer.

"This restructure will begin to address these issues and lift the performance of the organisation.

"Farmers are not interested in the politics of where Fonterra's head office will be. Our primary goal is to achieve the best performance possible from our co-operative."
