ATK Awarded $4 Million Contract to Supply Ammunition to
New Zealand Military Forces

ATK (Alliant Techsystems) (NYSE: ATK) has been awarded a $4 million contract from the government of New Zealand to supply 25mm training and tactical ammunition for use by military light armored vehicles. The award represents a two-year procurement under a four-year contract.
ATK Ammunition Systems, Arden Hills, Minn., will manage the contract and produce the ammunition projectiles and fuzes at the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills. The ATK Proving Grounds, Elk River, Minn. and New River Energetics, Radford, Va., will also be involved in the manufacturing of the rounds. Oerlikon Contraves Pyrotec in Switzerland will supply the 25mm APFSDS-T cartridge.
The main armament system on the light armored vehicles used by New Zealand's military forces is the 25mm M242 Bushmaster cannon, which is produced by ATK Gun Systems, Mesa, Ariz.
ATK Ammunition Systems is the largest supplier of training and tactical tank ammunition and medium-caliber ammunition to the U.S. Department of Defense. It is one of four operating units within ATK's Precision Systems Group.
