TELECOM’S 025 OUTSOURCING CONTRACT EXTENDED WITH ERICSSON
Telecom New Zealand has extended the length of its current contract with Ericsson to manage its 025 TDMA network by a further two years.
The original contract, signed in 2000, for five years, is being extended to take Ericsson’s responsibility for Telecom’s 025 network through to 2007.
The agreement represents a complete outsourcing contract with Ericsson responsible for managing the network, including monitoring and surveillance of the end-to-end service, network performance improvements, hardware support and co-ordinating the field and maintenance staff.
“Over the past two years we have developed a cost-effective and efficient way of working with Ericsson,” says Stephen Crombie, Telecom’s Mobile Networks and Planning Manager.
“The arrangement is working so well that we want to extend it to ensure both parties can plan effectively.”
“Telecom still has plenty of customer demand for its 025 services and we want to ensure we can continue to deliver a high quality customer experience,” Mr Crombie said.
Brian Phillips, Managing Director of Ericsson New Zealand said, “Ericsson is delighted to have the opportunity to continue our valued relationship with Telecom New Zealand.”
“The extension of the agreement is a tribute to Ericsson’s standards of excellence and commitment to quality.”
Telecom’s 027 CDMA network will continue to be maintained in-house and offers customers a full range of technologically advanced services including fast data, email, picture messaging and a host of business applications.
