FFNZ Membership Booming
Federated Farmer's membership officially passed its 2001 total of 16,673 members yesterday, said Federated Farmers of New Zealand President Tom Lambie.
"This is the fourth year in succession the Federation's membership has increased, said Mr Lambie.
"To have achieved this milestone with four and half months of the year to run is a great endorsement of the strength of the National organisation and a credit to governance, staff and the strength and pride in the Federation's brand.
"Despite farm amalgamations farmers are flocking to the Federation, reflecting the quality of the full range of the Federation's policy and membership services.
"Membership of the Federation is cheap insurance (less than $1 a day) against the raft of issues that impact on farmer's ability to run their businesses.
"Given the lack of rural representation in Parliament, it is increasingly important that farmers and rural New Zealand have a collective voice."
