Travel Agents Welcome Qantas Lower Fares Announcement

The Travel Agents Association of New Zealand welcomed today’s announcement by Qantas of reduced domestic airfares. The Association says that this reduction in airfares will provide some much-needed competition and more choice for the domestic consumer.

“This is a win-win situation for the consumer. After years of inflated ticket prices, it’s great to see airlines competing and delivering lower fares with fewer strings attached,” says James Langton, President TAANZ.

“Today’s announcement by Qantas also reinforces the vital role a travel agent plays in ensuring the public can select the best deal available on the day. Travel agents are the world’s best search engine, offering the full range of fares and airlines available. We’re always focussed on the specific needs of the individual traveller,” says James Langton, President TAANZ.

“Now that the fares are down, TAANZ will continue to act in the interest of consumers by monitoring all airlines to see that the reductions remain and continue to be readily available, says James Langton, President TAANZ.
