Appointment Of Director Corporate Communications

Jody Stewart has been appointed Director, Corporate Communications for Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited. In this role, she will be responsible for developing and implementing the group’s corporate communications strategy both internally and externally.

Ms Stewart has extensive experience in the public and private sector, focusing on strategic communications planning and stakeholder management.

Previously she was an Account Director with Sweeney Vesty Limited, a trans-Tasman corporate and marketing communications firm. Prior to this Ms Stewart was the Communications Manager for Fletcher Building Limited, managing the re-branding of the company as well as internal and external communications. She was also the Chief Advisor Communications at the Ministry of Commerce, co-ordinating the rebranding of the Ministry to the Ministry of Economic Development.

Ms Stewart has worked for the New Zealand Treasury as an Assistant Director Communications, where she provided communications advice on asset sales and social policy issues. Ms Stewart has also spent time as an Officer in the NZ Army and was the Public Relations Officer for the first contingent to be sent to Bosnia as part of the United Nations Protection Force.

Ms Stewart will report to Alexander Töldte, Fonterra’s Chief Development Officer. Her appointment is effective immediately and she will be based at the Fonterra Corporate Centre in Auckland.
