Trade New Zealand Takes Local Technology To World

26 April 2002

Trade New Zealand has selected New Zealand company Touchpoint to supply marketing automation software to manage marketing of its e-business initiatives. Trade New Zealand’s e-business initiatives have been developed to bring local exporters and overseas buyers closer together.

After a stringent RFP process involving four companies, Trade New Zealand chose Touchpoint involving because its software had the ability to send, track, follow and report on inbound and outbound marketing campaigns across multiple channels.

Says Rod MacKenzie, Trade New Zealand’s General Manager E-business, “For the number of marketing communications we have planned, we need flexible campaign management software that supports a variety of channels, that’s adaptable for our internal use and that provides measurability and visibility.”

Trade New Zealand will utilise Touchpoint for direct mail, email and fax campaigns, using its existing database of New Zealand’s exporters and lists from external suppliers. About 10,000 New Zealand companies are exporters in the agriculture, primary products and manufacturing industries, with a growing number in technology and services. Says MacKenzie, “The first campaigns through Touchpoint will focus on encouraging New Zealand exporters to register with the ‘New Zealand Exporters Online’ website – on www.NZMarketLink.com - in anticipation of marketing campaigns to overseas buyers later this year.”

“The Touchpoint solution will also enable us to communicate regularly and more efficiently with participants in our e-business initiatives using, for example, e-mail newsletters.”

“We’re impressed with Touchpoint’s track record with large New Zealand companies and appreciate the partnership approach they take with their clients,” says MacKenzie. “We’re also pleased to find a world class product that’s been developed locally and promises to deliver results quickly.”

Steve Shearman, Touchpoint’s Managing Director, echoes Trade New Zealand’s emphasis on local industry.

“It’s encouraging to have the support of a Government agency like Trade New Zealand. By recognising what an effective product Touchpoint is, Trade New Zealand is in a good position to use Touchpoint to its greatest effect – strengthening the relationship between New Zealand exporters and the rest of the world.”
