Ford Mondeo Decleared New Zealand Autocar Magazine Car Of The Year
The all-new Ford Mondeo has been crowned the New Zealand Autocar Magazine Car of the Year. The Ford Mondeo beat five
other finalists, including the BMW M3, Jaguar X-Type, Toyota Corolla, Holden Barina and Honda CR-V, to claim the overall
title.
All six judges decided unanimously that the Ford Mondeo was the deserved recipient of the award.
"The level of safety and specification found in the Mondeo is unbelievable, considering that it is s sub-forty thousand
dollar car," said the Publisher and Managing Editor of New Zealand Autocar Magazine, Mark Petch.
"We struggle to believe how Ford are able to make any money selling this vehicle, such is the value for money that it
offers," he said.
The 'dare to be different' interior of the Ford Mondeo won acclaim from the judges, as did the responsive feel of the
steering.
The spaciousness of the cabin, and the 'wonderful rear seats,' were specific qualities of the vehicle that left the
judges impressed.
"The six finalists are a quality group of cars. It says a lot for the Mondeo that it was such a clear winner," said New
Zealand Autocar Magazine judge Paul Owen.
The Autocar award is the fourth New Zealand Car of the Year title for the new Ford Mondeo, and follows wins in the
National Business Review, New Zealand Company Vehicle Magazine and Autofile.
