Weekend Banking Before Christmas

Published: Fri 14 Dec 2001 05:17 PM
ANZ today announced that 33 of its branches around the country will open on extended hours leading up to Christmas. Most are open from 10am - 2pm on Saturday 15 and Saturday 22 December.
ANZ Head of Metrobanking, Judy Whiteman, says Christmas is the busiest time of year for most people and ANZ wanted to give its customers more time to get things done.
"Most people could do with an extra pair hands or a few more hours in the day at this time of year. Unfortunately we can't help out with the hands, but what we can do is give our customers a couple of extra days to do their banking.
"We continuously look at the hours that our branches operate in relation to customer demand. ANZ already has a number of branches which are open on weekends or late on Thursday nights throughout the year."
The full range of everyday banking services are available over the next two Saturdays.
Regions with at least one branch operating on extended hours over the next two weeks include: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Palmerston North, Hawkes Bay, New Plymouth, Nelson, Blenheim, Queenstown.
