Who Makes New Zealand’s Best Snarlers?

22 November 2001
Release from: The New Zealand Retail Meat and Allied Trades Federation

The NZ Sausage Competition and Who Makes New Zealand’s Best Snarlers?

As National Sausage Week draws to a close this weekend we will find out just who does make New Zealand’s best sausages.

Over 60 companies have entered nearly 300 entries, hoping their sausages will pick up some of the medals and maybe get that coveted supreme award.

Judges will be prodding, sniffing, examining and of course tasting their way through all the entries on Friday and Saturday this week at Weltec Hospitality School in Petone Wellington.

Good looks, great shape, consistency, the ability to cook and not burst, aroma and of course a great flavour are just some of the criteria the judges will apply in their search for the best snarlers in the land.

Results of all winners will be available on Monday morning 26 November.
