BP drops fuel
prices nationwide
BP has dropped its wholesale petrol price by six cents and diesel prices by two cents following an easing off in world oil prices.
The price decrease, which has immediate effect, lowers prices at most BP owned service stations in the main cities to $1.06.9 per litre for Unleaded 91, $1.11.9 for Premium Unleaded and 78.9 for a litre of diesel.
BP Managing Director Peter Griffiths said BP was reacting to a fall in international oil prices brought about by falling global economic confidence and reassuring comments by OPEC over continuity of oil supply.
Mr Griffiths stressed that motorists could expect a lot of price volatility in the near future with the possibility of a series of price rises and falls.
“It is very difficult to make predictions at this time as any statements can be rapidly overtaken by international events,”Mr Griffiths said.
