Renewable Energy Mechanisms in the Energy Strategy
INVITATION TO A SEMINAR
Renewable Energy Mechanisms in the Energy Strategy
Tuesday, 31 July 2001 from 5.30 p.m. to
7.30 p.m.
National Library Conference Room
Aitken
Street, Wellington
The New Zealand Wind Energy Association (NZWEA) invites members, friends and interested individuals to attend this seminar to discuss the concepts, advantages and disadvantages of each of the five renewable energy support mechanisms discussed in the Draft National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy.
The keynote speaker will be Jeanette Fitzsimons MP, initiator of the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Act, under which the Renewable Support Mechanisms will operate.
NZWEA has invited a speaker from the Ministry for the Environment or EECA, or one of the authors of the consultants¹ report that has evaluated the renewable energy support mechanisms. These speakers have not confirmed availability yet.
Current events at CoP6 Part II in Bonn, and the latest New Zealand Climate Change position will be discussed.
NZWEA has been working to ensure that the Strategy includes a renewable support mechanism that comes into operation as soon as possible, and has real "teeth". The involvement of NZWEA members and guests in the debate is welcome.
The seminar will be followed by wine and finger food - an opportunity for informal discussion among attendees.
Please RSVP by Friday 27 July 2001 for catering purposes to: nzwea@windenergy.org.nz or leave a message on 04 586 2003, or fax 04 586 2004.
For attendance at this seminar NZWEA Members will be invoiced $22.50 (including gst) per head, and non members will be invoiced $36.00 (including gst) per head.
