Judgement in Paramount Case to be Appealed
In a High Court decision dated 17 July 2001 the New Zealand Meat Board and the Meat Industry Association have been found liable for damages relating to the insolvency of Paramount Export Ltd (in receivership and liquidation) and Ronnick Commodities Ltd (in receivership and liquidation) following a quota decision in 1996.
The Board and MIA will vigorously defend their position and will be appealing the decision to the Court of Appeal.
