Global Co:
Polling
“Our ‘polls’ are showing about a third (33%) of dairy farmers are against Global Co”, said Mark Masters on behalf of Farmers for a Better Dairy Deal.
“Unlike Global Co, we can’t – indeed, we wouldn’t – spend millions of dollars of farmers’ money on clever daily telephone polling by professional firms in Wellington”, said Mr Masters.
“We get real read-outs of farmer opinion, which are probably more accurate. And we get them for free!”
“We’re getting lots of calls from stock and station agents, telling us what their clients are saying about Global Co. Local shop owners are passing on feed-back from their customers. And we hear from the chaps who visit lots of farmers every day – people who have real daily contact with dairy farmers.”
“These people probably know much more than fancy overpaid polling people in Wellington”, said Mark Masters.
“It’s really an insult to us farmers that our leaders are paying big money for profession PR firms to do daily telephone polls to see if we’re still ‘on-side’. It just shows how desperate they are, and how distant they have become from farms on the ground.”
“Global Co must be really bogging themselves. To send Warren Larsen to ‘grand-stand’ at our Hamilton meeting – by crikey!”
“It just shows you what a political process this whole Global Co thing is.”
“Global Co is like a political party machine cajoling farmers to vote for them on election day”, said Mr Masters.
“Well farmers are not PR fodder for fancy people in Wellington. It’s our livelihood at stake. It’s our industry. Treat us with some respect please Global Co.”
“Give us proper information, not PR propaganda”, concluded Mr Masters.
