Offering Alternative Dairy Models

Published: Fri 8 Jun 2001 11:20 AM
'Farmers for a Better Dairy Deal' will continue to express the alternative models recommended by McKinseys right up until the 18 June vote.
Whether you agree with the McKinsey alternatives or not, we believe it is very important to ensure that:
* all the relevant information is provided to everyone participating in the vote; and
* pros and cons of the main alternatives are properly debated.
This is obviously a vital part of any healthy democratic process.
To that end, we have decided to hold meetings with farmers and other interested people, initially in the Waikato area. We will incur modest (but still material) expenses in the process - copying, printing, hiring venues etc.
To help defray these expenses, we are inviting donations from any person who may be interested in supporting the process (if not the alternatives themselves).
The account is as follows:
'Farmers for a Better Dairy Deal'
Bank of New Zealand
Acct No.: 02-560-0034217-00
The account will be opened and operated exclusively by an independent third party - Mr Peter J Andrew, Barrister of Auckland. The identity of any donor and the amount of any donation will remain confidential to Mr Andrew.
'Farmer for a Better Dairy Deal' will submit to Mr Andrew the details of expenses incurred in this process, and Mr Andrew will make the appropriate payment.
We would welcome your support.
