Colonial First State (NZ) Take International Fixed Interest Honours

Colonial First State (NZ) has won the title of Morningstar/Business Herald International Fixed Interest Fund Manager for 2000.

Chief Executive Bruce Abraham said the award reflects the strength of Colonial First State's investment strategy and the excellent returns achieved by the company's global fixed interest portfolio in 1999 and 2000.

In announcing the award, Morningstar commented that Colonial First State produced among the highest returns and the best value for risk compared to other global fixed interest managers.

"Colonial First State is one of the few investment managers in New Zealand to manage a global fixed interest portfolio locally," said Mr Abraham.

"Most other New Zealand based investment managers outsource the management of this sector. Our competition, therefore, included some high-profile global investment managers."

Colonial First State was 1st Runner Up in 1999 in the International Fixed Interest category as well as 1st Runner Up in the Multi Sector Funds category.
