New Technologies And Mitel Corporation Sign Master Distribution Agreement

New Technologies Ltd, specialists in voice communications, has signed a master distributor agreement with Mitel Corporation. This agreement extends a three year relationship between Mitel and New Technologies, giving New Technologies access to a far wider range of leading-edge products from the Mitel portfolio.

New Technologies will distribute Mitel’s voice communication systems, networked voice and data systems, computer/telephony systems and applications as well telephony enabled server VoIP systems in New Zealand. ......

Mitel’s flagship PBX, the SX-2000 has a long and established history in New Zealand with over 300 systems previously installed. However, according to Colin Macdougall, Mitel’s Asia Pacific Business Development Manager, "the more recently developed software platforms and product developments, until now, have not been actively promoted in New Zealand. The partnership agreement with New Technologies will ensure that continuity of support for installed systems and access to the latest developments from Mitel will once again be made available to New Zealand customers".

Mitel’s next generation IP telephony portfolio, intelligent messaging systems, remote access products, call centre solution and natural speech recognition technologies are all geared toward delivering tangible business advantage by combining innovation, performance and reliability.

Alan Curtis, General Manager of New Technologies, believes that the introduction of the full Mitel range is "good for New Technologies and good for customers. We are now able to offer an upgrade path for Mitel customers who are very satisfied with their current SX2000 systems and don't want to change. The brand loyalty to the SX2000 is surprisingly strong," he added.

Mitel is a global leader in real-time enterprise communications. Over 220,000 voice systems worldwide, representing over 16 million lines, have been shipped, serving more than 175,000 customers. The company has strengthened its presence in the Asia pacific region with a number of key commercial and technical appointments based out of its Singapore Office.

The relationship between Mitel and the Datacom Group goes back three years with Communication Enterprises being the master distributor for the Mitel Imagination small to medium sized ISDN hybrid PBX.
