UNCERTAINTY STILL FOR STATE INSURANCE WORKERS.
MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE PSA
--------------------------
"The PSA the largest union representing workers in State Insurance is pleased that an announcement has finally been made about the future of State Insurance" stated Stephen Caldis, PSA Organiser.
Since February when the merger between Norwich Union and CGU (the parent companies of both State and NZI) was announced, rumours have circulated in both businesses.
"Although this announcement of intended sale, does not take away all uncertainty it does at least point us in the direction for the future" he continued.
The PSA and State Insurance have a relationship agreement in place allowing for participation by the Union on employment related policies and processes.
We have a good relationship with State Insurance and we have confirmed with them that we commence discussions as soon as possible to ensure this relationship is strengthened and all matters of concern are canvassed.
`We will look to explore the advantages that this situation presents both for the business and our members.
