gen-i And Trilogy To Sell esolutions Packages

gen-i and Trilogy are the first IT resellers to sign-up to sell esolutions packages to their customers, broadening esolutions reach in the market.

Joanne Hodgson, esolutions' Channel Manager, says the relationships are an endorsement of esolutions' product offerings. "These companies are selective of who they partner with and would not be investing time and training in our packages unless they thought they are value-adding products that will create revenue for them.

"These relationships increase the availability of esolutions packages to the wider market and allow these channel partners to offer more comprehensive solutions to their clients."

Given their established sales, marketing and technical skills with Microsoft and Telecom products both companies are designated Tier 1 partners and as such are credited with esolutions Partner Status.

The channel partners will sell selected esolutions packages according to their own customers' needs. For instance, esolutions' application service provider (ASP) offering is of interest to firms who have decided not to invest in infrastructure in that area themselves. In comparison, most other ASPs are selling their services direct, rather than through resellers. In other areas, such as elements of managed network services, esolutions channel partners may continue to compete with esolutions and bundle complementary offerings.

esolutions is talking to several other potential channel partners and consulting and professional services firms about its ASP and Application Infrastructure Provider offerings and its online market projects.

Many of these online market projects are big-dollar value products where esolutions has already proven itself, for example with the successful implementation of Telecom's eProcurement system.

esolutions expects to sign several other partners within the next two months.

"The new capabilities our partners receive by working with esolutions further illustrates the usefulness of alliance business models," says Joanne Hodgson referring to the comments of some of the new partners (see below).

Trilogy Computer Systems - Mark Bosley, Sales Manager "esolutions represents the ideal forum to be involved in the 'ASP' market space. Without having to purchase the necessary infrastructure to make it happen, Trilogy now has an offering to those organisations who are looking to remove the up front investment and ongoing administration involved with business applications. We see the move to this type of business model as a growing trend which will eventually become standard business practice.

"As well as being able to provide Microsoft Office online, the Safecom, eFax and eWeb hosting products add additional value to our customer offering. In particular, we anticipate a great deal of scope for the Safecom product because many of our customers are looking for secure VPN communication, remote access and internet access. Safecom delivers all of these functions in the one product. It is our expectation that customers will have a great deal of confidence in the esolutions alliance."

gen-i - Peter Dickinson, General Manager Marketing and Strategy "gen-i has very strong relationships with Telecom, EDS and Microsoft in many areas, and our business converges with theirs in a range of ways. Going with esolutions was a natural extension of that.

"Being involved with one of the first big ASP providers lets us offer more choice to our customers, who can now choose to migrate to an ASP model if required. It also complements our nationwide field force, who offer on the ground technical expertise, compared to esolutions' online (remote) service model.

"We have studied the New Zealand ASP market both in size and number of providers and decided the most pragmatic approach was to partner with esolutions. In terms of our market strategy, it is the start of a new journey - one that creates more opportunities for us. It is a positive, natural extension of relationships already in place."
