On Opt-In Email Marketing
Email Impact, the New Zealand leader in opt-in email marketing, today announced it will provide an opt-in email service to Scoop Media, NZ’s only free and customisable news-by-email service, in what will be a pioneering partnership between an an opt-in email marketer and an online news service in this country.
According to Email Impact’s Managing Director, Tom Skotidas, it is an indication that the local Internet marketing industry is coming of age. “The marketplace has been screaming for more high-quality, high-response opt-in email lists,” says Skotidas. “By working together with Scoop, we will offer consumer and business marketers the ability to target a wide variety of Internet users on a one-to-one basis, in both a friendly and responsive way. Everyone benefits—consumers are only receiving the offers they want and companies are able to direct their marketing specifically to those potential customers.”
Scoop Media (www.scoop.co.nz) will actively promote Opt-In NZ (www.optin.co.nz) to its 30,000 monthly site visitors and 1,500 email subscribers and give them the opportunity to “opt-in” and receive commercial email messages on topics of interest to them.
“Opt-in email ties in perfectly with our news service and creates a powerful, new synergistic effect,” said Alastair Thompson, Managing Editor of Scoop. “Our customers are online-savvy and love to receive news and offers by email, and our partnership with Email Impact takes this to the next level for them. Opt-In NZ is a great information source that saves a lot of time spent on surfing and—just like our news-by-email service—is absolutely free.”
When Opt-In NZ users register for a list, they check off ‘interest boxes’ next to a series of categories, such as Clothing, Travel, Entertainment, Music, Business Services, etc., that correspond to their wants and needs. Members can select as many interests as they wish and return to modify their profile or even opt-out completely at any time.
“Scoop’s web site attracts some of New Zealand’s most experienced and responsive Internert users,” says Skotidas. “By partnering with Scoop, we are able to offer direct marketers a large, highly-qualified, and highly-responsive group of online consumers who are eager to receive their offers.”
Email Impact will provide list management and email delivery services, and offer the lists for rent through its marketer web site. The company maintains the highest privacy standards and never reveals its members’ personal information to any of the direct marketers who rent the lists. All marketing messages conform strictly to the interests consumers have chosen, and certain content is completely disallowed, e.g. adult sexual material and get-rich-quick schemes.
