Auckland Workers Death Under Investigation

by Selwyn Manning

Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the death of a worker in central Auckland on Sunday.

Greig Charles Kennedy (40) died after falling through a skylight window on top of the YMCA building. Mr Kennedy and a co-worker were fixing lights on the building.

It appears Mr Kennedy slipped, and held on with his hands for a moment and then crashed through a skylight, fell one storey to the ground level. He was taken to hospital but died on arrival.

Scoop understands Mr Kennedy was wearing a safety harness. His co-worker was un-injured. The oSH investigation is continuing.
