Americas Cup Races Postponed Due To High Winds
RACES POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY
Americas Cup challenger series races scheduled for today have been postponed until tomorrow due to strong wind gusts.
Westerly winds of more than 25 knots have registered on the race course. Gusts of 40 knots are expected in this afternoon with heavy rain squalls. Tomorrow the wind should decrease to 15 knots.
The postponment offers Young America and Nippon challenger Azura an extra day to get their yachts and teams back to race fitness.
Young America should have been racing their second boat USA 58 today, whilst Nippon Challenge managed to set up a new mast during the night.
