Marc Pajot of be hAPpy on his boat's first victory: "I feel happy for sure. We have to start to win, so we decided to do
it today."
Paul Cayard of AmericaOne on losing today: "We had a mis-timing obviously at the start. We were off by two seconds on
our start compared to the Committee boat. It was a bad mistake but someone said something pretty good to me on the way
back in. He said: 'In life, sometimes you are the bug and sometimes you are the windshield.' I guess today we were the
bug!"
Peter Gilmour of Asura on a broken titanium clew ring: "I must say I accept the responsibility for the failure because I
tried to urge the whole Nippon challenge design team to build the boats to the minimum. They obviously have heeded me
and listened too much in some areas."
John Cutler of America True on beating AmericaOne: "We were very pleased with today's result. I think it's probably a
reversal of the first round robin where we sailed ourselves over the start line and then lost the race."
Peter Gilmour of Asura on weather-related postponements: "The situation is obviously frustrating for all parties. This
is a pretty big event and there's a lot resting on it. If rain happens at a Formula One motor race for example they
bring them in quickly and let them change to wet condition tyres or whatever the case may be, and I think an event of
this stature it is important for us to push things to the limit especially when time is on our side."
Paul Cayard of AmericaOne on two boat programmes vs one boat programmes: "Certainly America True is doing very well with
one boat but there's a long way to go. We have only seen one of New York's boats. We've only seen one of Prada's boats
and I haven't even seen my other boat! So, as far as all the two-boat programmes going on around here, yeah we haven't
seen very much of them yet."
Peter Gilmour of Asura on wind strength limits: "I actually think that we have probably taken it too far, especially
with some of the comments I have heard coming out of the Team New Zealand camp in terms of the winds they intend to race
in."
