Seasquill:
Trained by Graeme Rogerson.
Has only won 2 races but has run well against other strong contenders.
Came 2nd in the Group 1 South Australian Derby in May.
Has disappointed in his last 2 runs.
Finished 6th to ‘Cent Home’ in the Group 1 Kelt Capital Stakes (Hastings).
Finished 11th to Sky Heights in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (Melbourne).
The two miles of the Melbourne Cup should not pose a problem but he may not quite have the class.

Figurehead:
Trained by Kay Lane at Otaki.
Figurehead campaigned successfully in Brisbane in May and June
Won the Rough Habit Plate
Ran 2nd in the Group 1 Queensland Derby.
Has looked good this campaign running 2nd to ‘Second Coming’ in the Naturalism Stakes.
Won the Cranborne Cup.
Was not suited by the tempo when running 12th in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup.
Can race well on any type of footing and should be making up ground at the business end of the race.

Able Master:
Trained by Bruce Wallace.
Raced in the best as a 3yo.
Ran 6th in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby.
Ran 4th in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas.
Ran 5th in the Group 1 AJC Derby.
Showed he was in good form with a strong 2nd to Vita Man in the Group 1 Metropolitan.
