Hide Runs For Cover

Richard Worth
National Candidate For Epsom
"ACT MP Rodney Hide’s trumpeting of his commitment to Epsom needs to be judged by his no-shows at public meetings with other candidates", said Epsom National Party candidate, Richard Worth, today.
"He has a record of not fronting up for meetings when policy is to be discussed. He runs for cover.
"Three examples of his no-shows are:
21 July 1999 at the Cathedral Forum at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell; 17 October 1999 at the Eden Assembly of God for Politicians Sunday; and 28 October 1999 at St Andrews Church.
Epsom expects more than that. I believe the electorate wants someone who knows the issues of Auckland firsthand, lives in the electorate and attends to the individual and group concerns of the people in our area. Mr Hide's record fails on all accounts.
