Latest Americas Cup Challenger Race Report

RACES POSTPONED DUE TO BAD WEATHER

The races scheduled for today (day four of the Louis Vuitton Cup Round Robin one) have been postponed due to the bad weather conditions.

This morning at 6.30 am local time the Race Committee advised all the teams that the weather conditions on the race course were expected to be outside of the parameters defined in the Notice of Race. If in the 15 minutes prior to the starting signal the wind speed is continuously greater than 18 knots for a period of 5 minutes, the Race Commitee shall postpone the race. The Committee, moreover, shall abandon a race after the start when the true wind speed is continuously greater than 23 knots for a period of 5 minutes measured at 10 metres above sea level. According to the Race Conditions the Race Committee shall postopne a race before the starting signal if in the starting area the true wind speed measured at 10 metres above sea level is continuously less than 5 knots.

Just one race is scheduled for tomorrow, 22 October; the pairings will be those for Race 7. The other race scheduled for today (race 8) will not be started tomorrow, because of the Auckland Coastal Classic Race.
Tomorrow team Prada will race against AmericOne (skipper Paul Cayard) at 13.50 local time approximately.
