Search For JFK Junior - A US Coastguard vessel is scouring the coast off Massachusetts following an emergency transmitter signal was heard which maybe from the missing plane flown by JFK Junior. The plane was carrying John F Kennedy jnr, his wife and sister in law when it disappeared on its way to a resort island off the US east coast. The Coastguard says the signal is one option they are pursuing. The signal was a brief one, and picked up by a US Airforce aircraft taking part in the search. Debris and luggage thought to have come from the light-aircraft has washed up on a beach in the area.
Samoan Assassination - New Zealand law enforcement experts will leave within the next two days to assist in the investigation into the killing of Samoan Public Works Minister Luagalau Levaula Kamu. Mr Luagalau was gunned down at a political function on Saturday night, killed by a single shot in the back. Three New Zealand police officers have been dispatched to Samoa. Motives for the killing remain unknown.
New Zealander Kept in PNG - A New Zealander is among four staff members of former Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Bill Scate who are now being prevented from leaving the country. The kiwi was a media adviser to the former Prime Minister He and three colleagues have been told by the new administration that they cannot leave the country.
