Land Search And Rescue Launches Searchlight 2025 – Celebrating 92 Years
Land Search and Rescue is proud to launch Searchlight 2025, a nationwide awareness and fundraising campaign celebrating 92 years of assisting the lost, missing, and injured across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Running from 1 May to 31 May 2025, Searchlight 2025 shines a light on the extraordinary efforts of Land Search and Rescue’s volunteer responders, who selflessly give their time and expertise to bring people safely home. The campaign raises vital awareness, supports the future of our free service, and showcases the heart of our organisation — our people.
Throughout May, Land Search and Rescue will share stories across social media platforms, highlighting the incredible mahi of our local groups and what they are fundraising for in their communities. Radio promotions will also amplify the voices of our volunteers and raise awareness across the country.
From May 1st, our Searchlight 2025 campaign video can be viewed on our website, across social media channels, and on YouTube, as well as broadcast via Sky (Sky Go, Sky Sport Now, and Neon) and TVNZ+.
Thanks to the generous support of sponsors and partners, Seek — our bright and friendly mascot — will appear in interactive activations at participating stores across New Zealand. Fantastic prizes are available for anyone who donates during May through our secure donation platform.
A special thanks goes to the Auckland Sky Tower, which will light up orange for May 1st in honour of Land Search and Rescue’s 92 years of service to communities across Aotearoa.
