Plan Ahead, Expect Delays On SH1 Brynderwyn Hills Tomorrow

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA is advising people traveling on State Highway 1 at the Brynderwyn Hills to plan ahead for possible delays tomorrow (Thursday 24 April).

Work to clear vegetation around Sunday’s slip between State Highway 12 and Artillery Road will take place between 8.30am and 2.30pm and will require periods of stop/go when contractors are cutting up the trees as part of the clearance works.

Delays during stop/go are expected to be 5-10 minutes and people are asked to plan ahead and allow additional time for their journeys.

The current 50km/h temporary speed limit will also remain in place during the works. However, once work has been completed the speed limit will be returned to 100km/h, ahead of the Anzac Day long weekend.

NZTA thanks everyone for their patience and understanding as we undertake this important work to restore the road to its full capacity ahead of the long weekend.
