Police have taken a man into custody following a firearms incident in Glendene earlier this afternoon.
A homicide investigation is now underway after two people were located deceased at a Barrys Rd address.
Following enquiries, Police have approached a Te Atatū Peninsula address and taken a man into custody.
He is being spoken to in relation to the two deaths.
A scene examination is currently underway at the Barrys Rd address.
Cordons will remain in place and locals will see an increased Police presence in the area.
Police understand this was an alarming incident for local residents and we would like to reassure the community that at
this stage, we are not seeking anyone else.
The investigation is in its very early stages and we are still asking any witnesses to contact Police on 105 quoting
