Wellington District Police have seized methamphetamine, cash and a firearm while executing a search warrant at a
Martinborough property today.
About 500g of methamphetamine was found, which has a street value of approximately $400,000, along with $12,000 in cash,
and a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition.
In relation to the warrant, a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested for possession of methamphetamine
for supply and unlawful possession of a firearm, and both appeared in the Masterton District Court this afternoon.
Detective Sergeant Shaun Richardson says a seizure of this size will prevent considerable social harm.
“The amount of methamphetamine seized today was potentially destined for hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
“Police will continue to target those who seek to profit from the harm they cause, often to the most vulnerable members
of our communities.”
