Redeveloping Band Rotunda a good save, says Chamber

The redevelopment of the Band Rotunda in Oriental Bay is a good save for the city, says Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
"This has been an iconic piece of Wellington since 1938, and congratulations are due to the City Council and developer Cheops Holdings for coming to an agreement that will preserve it," says Chief Executive John Milford.
"It’s a small piece in the jigsaw of landmarks that makes our waterfront such a drawcard, and to lose it would have been a shame.
"The city is lucky to have someone of Maurice Clark’s ability who is prepared to get in behind this.
"He’s done some great work refurbishing other iconic buildings, notably the Public Trust, so we can expect a quality outcome that will not only enhance the city's architecture but also add to our already top hospitality offering."
