Free Forum for parents of ‘fussy eaters’

Published: Fri 3 May 2019 02:56 PM
MidCentral District Health Board, Massey University and the Central PHO are holding a free forum for parents of ‘fussy eaters’ on 9 May at the Palmerston North Convention Centre from 6pm to 7.30pm. Registrations are not necessary.
Fussy eating is a common difficulty encountered by many parents, and can create real challenges for many families. Topics for discussion include a child’s developmental stages, the relationship and beliefs about food, and mealtimes as a way to connect to family rather than a battleground.
Massey University psychologist Kirsty Ross said: “Many parents worry when their child is a ‘Fussy Eater’, but is still a normal weight or overweight; this forum discusses how parents can feel empowered to enjoy mealtimes with their children again, with practical advice from a psychologist, paediatrician and dietitian.”
At the end of the forum there will be the opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the panel.
