Manawatū Health and Wellbeing Group seeking members
Manawatū Health and Wellbeing Group seeking members
An area highlighted in the Manawatū Health and Wellbeing Plan 2018 – 2023 was the need for better communication and connections between organisations involved in health and wellbeing in the Manawatū District and the community. As a result of this, a Health and Wellbeing Group for the Manawatū District is being created.
The purpose of the group is to work together on a common agenda to improve the health and wellbeing of Manawatū District residents. The group will:
· monitor the progress of the Manawatū Health and Wellbeing Plan;
· provide a conduit between health and social service providers, the Council, iwi and the communities of the Manawatū District to aid communication flow in both directions;
· provide a community voice and feedback to MidCentral DHB, service providers and the Council regarding potential service developments, projects and initiatives;
· advocate, where appropriate, for positive change in areas that have a fundamental impact on people’s health and wellbeing in the Manawatū District.
The group will be
made up of twelve to fifteen members. Applications are
currently being sought for up to four places on the group.
These positions are voluntary and will be appointed to
represent the community.
Other members of the group will be representatives from: Manawatū District Council, MidCentral DHB, local iwi, the Ministry of Social Development, Feilding Health Care and local organisations.
Applications open Monday 29 April 2019 and will run until Friday 17 May 2019. If you are interested in becoming involved please email Angela Rainham at Planning4Health@midcentraldhb.govt.nz to be sent an application form or phone (06) 350 8303.
